Dimensions Should be Planets with Speculative Science
Each of the dimension currently in Minecraft should have its own planetary system with realistic climates, oceans, and continents. Each planet will be based on what I call speculative science. This means that the physics and chemistry of the oceans, atmosphere, and geology, as well as the history of biological evolution, influence what you will find on a particular planet. For example, the overworld is Earth-like, so the environment is based on that of Earth. Each of the three dimensions should have creatures and other organisms that are adapted to the conditions on that planet. Since the nether has lava on its surface, its biochemistry will be radically different from that of the overworld. The lava should not burn any of the nether mobs, as they are adapted to use lava for their biological functions. Moving on to the end dimension, the player will spawn on a moon orbiting a gas giant planet similar to Saturn. The mobs in the End are adapted to use a substance that is liquid at an extremely cold temperature. Saturn's moon Titan is the inspiration for these features. I believe that these changes will make Minecraft more believable in a science-fantasy sense. I think science-fantasy/speculative science is a good way to make Minecraft feel like a finished game.
