Carrying several totems in your inventory makes you almost immortal. But the problem is that there are no such desperate and deadly situations in the game. Ultimately, the player in survival comes to the fact that he simply creates a so-called "raid farm" and obtains from there an infinite number of totems. And he carries the totem in his hand for an infinite amount of time before he sweats his health.
The totem has a so-called "standby mode". That is, wearing a totem in his left hand, it is activated instantly if the player finds himself in a fatal situation and the player does not need to somehow activate or turn it on. Any standby mode consumes a certain amount of energy, whether it be charging on the phone or a battery in the motherboard or on the remote control. And the totem's standby mode should not last forever. Some energy of the totem must be wasted and sooner or later it must become unusable.
I propose to introduce an "expiration date" for the totem. Carrying the totem in the left or right hand, it will gradually "discharge". After 100 or 200 hours of use (wearing in the left or right hand), it will acquire a different texture, perhaps as it "discharges" its effects will gradually lose their strength and duration. And then it will become completely useless. You can then melt it in a furnace and get a piece of gold.
