Selectively breeding crops by using bees

In the real world, farmers selectively breed plants to be bigger, last longer, taste better, ect. And, with selective breeding already existing with horses in Minecraft, it would make sense for players to be able to do this with plants too. This could also add more functionality to bees, which could be able to pollenate plants, and I bet people could make some cool farms with it

    I like the sound of the idea so far but how would it be implemented? What would be the benefits?

    I think it would make automatic farming a a lot easier but not to the point where its unbalanced

    idrk what you mean by how it would be implemented, but if I'm understanding right, I'd say maybe in a farming update
