As the 1.18 is coming up in a few days, i´ve tested how is the gameplay in the release candidates. You´ve done a really well job. It feels great and exciting going on an adventure to reach the tallest mountain or just going down into the dephts. But here´s where i´ve been thinking about these days. Although you can spam torch all over the places you can reach, it still not feels like you can see the magnificent cave you are exploring. So that led me to think: How cool would be if with a crossbow and a tweaked recipe for torches, you could launch a torch and with the magic of slime (or honey) it could stick the unreachable walls or cilings of that beautiful caves. For firts instance you may think this will be overpowered, but think of how many players really use the crossbow, wouldnt it be a fun mecanich for the mid late game?
You may need iron, string, slime/honey, and it could work as when you launch rockets with the crossbow. Another receipe for the torch is not complicated as the new blue torch was introduced in the nether update.
I think it will be a great addition to this cave and cliffs update introducing a fun mecanich to explore and make more fun, easy and beautify caves where you want to settle down. Or just to indicate your partners where to go next.
I´m my personal opinion, and I must admit I haven´t even crafted any crossbow since it was introduced in the game, I will have at least a reasonable function for it.
