I'm proposing a more skill-based combat that would appeal to hardcore players that can be toggled upon world generation.
\\ MECHANICS:
Movement-based Combat
• adds a variety of different weapon attacks depending on the direction the player is travelling at the time of an attack
Damage Cooldowns (ATK cd)
• dmg reduction for attack spamming
• resets after making an attack
• different cd timers for every attack move
Parry system
• a move that resets another PC's ATK cd, increases knockback & dmg resist when triggered
• for defensive plays
Combo system
• +5% damage for every hit in succession outside the ATK cd
• 5 stacks
• resets after 4 sec
Toggle No GUI
• players will have to rely on trial and error & muscle memory to fight effectively
\\ MOVESET:
STANDARD ATTACK
• [L.click]
• 1 sec ATK cd
• 100% dmg
• -50% dmg within ATK cd
SWEEPING HORIZONTAL ATTACK
• [a] or [d] + [L.click]
• hits multiple enemies within a 2 block wide arc
• 2 sec ATK cd
• -50% dmg & +100% knockback
• -95% dmg & +50% knockback within ATK cd
POWER ATTACK
• [w] + [L.click]
• +100% weapon reach (double the ATK range)
• 3 sec ATK cd
• +50% dmg & -50% knockback
• -90% dmg & -90% knockback within ATK cd
PARRY
• [s] + [L.click]
• 4 sec ATK cd
• +100% dmg resist and +100% knockback resist for 0.5 secs, resets ALL ATK cd of enemy
• +90% dmg resist and +80% knockback resist for 0.25 secs within ATK cd, resets the ATK cd of the moveset used by the enemy
• triggers the resets when hit within the timeframe
