using earned items with custom skins

I use pocket edition on minecraft and have a suggestion, you can earn items from achievements, but you can't use them with a custom skin, I feel like making earned items usable with a custom skin would be an awesome idea, and i don't know how they're configured for pc and console versions only pocket edition. I'd like to be able to use some of the hats or capes i've earned on my minecraft character with my custom skin. I also don't know what topic this falls under so i've put add-ons.

Great idea! Also, to answer your question, i have a PC, Xbox, Playstation4, and a mobile device and the Charcter Creator is exactly the same on each device.
