In Minecraft, there are protections enchantments, armors, armors Toughness to protect you from damage. But, they work in a really confusing way. Also, why are there Fire, Blast and Projectile protection if Protection is still the best? Here I have some ideas to make the other enchantments useful and simplify the damage counting
Damage types
There are 4 damage types now, but I think there should be more:
Fire and Heat: reduced by Fire Protection. They deal more damage depending on the biome's climate: in hot biomes, Fire will do more damage, and less in cold ones
Blast: reduced by Blast protection. The explosion damage, should deal damage based on general exposure, not legs' exposure
General: reduced by Protection enchantment
Air and pressure: reduced by feather falling
Magic: reduced by Magic protection
Projectile: reduced by Projectile protection. Projectiles tend to ignore armor: for each damage point dealt by a projectile, the armor effectiveness is reduced by 5%
Magic protection
A new type of protection that reduces by 8% per level any Magic damage (Potions, Wither effect, lasers, evocation fangs etc)
Toughness changes
I already did a post about this, check it out: https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/community/posts/4409199501069-Toughness-change
