Biome Diversity
With the recent announcement of The Wild Update for 1.19, I think it would be worth discussing potential features that could help enhance biome diversity and a sense of adventure to the world (one of the core pillars of the upcoming update, and something I think many people would find lacking in the games current state). One area that I believe could be worked on even more would be in the terrain generation department (with the changes in caves and cliffs being a great start), which is the focus of this particular post. Having more unique generation features (river placement, waterfalls, mountain placement, gorges, plateaus, etc...) would not only make exploring the world much more fun and worthwhile, but also add to inter and intra biome diversity immensely (certain terrain features could perhaps only generate within certain biomes, and having these features generate slightly differently from biome to biome would help eliminate/alleviate the age old problem of "once you have seen one biome type, you have seen them all"). I would be interested to hear others thoughts/ideas on what sort of terrain features could be included in different biomes to add to their uniqueness (ignoring plant life, which I think would be better suited to a separate post).
