I think that Stone and Deepslate is too unnatural blending into each other. There should be a block that is in the center of both blocks to divide them from each other. Something that looks like a mix of both. Something that feels vanilla enough to be added to the game.
Grimstone. That's it. You may be thinking that Grimstone's texture is almost the same as Deepslate. Well, when it was showcased at Minecraft Live 2020 implemented in the Deep Dark, it's texture was a mix between regular Stone and the current Deepslate (see Minecraft Live 2020)
Grimstone will be located between Stone and Deepslate at Y= 3 to -3. Grimstone will be similar to Deepslate. It will have its cobbled variant and the huge variety of bricks and tiles that come with it. It will also be able to craft Stone Tools, Furnaces and everything that can be crafted Cobblestone, Deepslate and Blackstone.
The generation of ores in Grimstone will have 3 options:
- Using Regular Ores
- Using Deepslate Ores
- Having a Grimstone Ore Variant (which I don't think is necessary)
The mining speed, blast resistance and strength of Grimstone will be exactly in between the speeds of Stone and Deepslate. It will also be able to be insta-mined with Efficiency 5, Haste 2. In the Grimstone area, no structures will generate except the Amethyst Geode. Other blocks like Dirt, Granite, Diorite, Andesite and Tuff can generate, but less frequently.
I hope others share the same opinion I do, and that this actually makes it into a future update.
