Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Ruby Ore and Ruby Item

Ruby Ore was, at first, planned to be in the place of Emerald so the feature never made it. I think bringing the Ruby back could be a good way to add a new ore and collectable to the game in a fun way. It could be a super rare (Far rarer than Diamond) ore that acts as a sort of treasure with the purpose of holding unlimited value to a villager allowing you to complete and trade you want with a single one.

Villager trades can be hard to gain in the first place and require time to reach so it wouldn't be too powerful if it was balanced by generation rate. Having a super rare ore would always keep you on your toes while mining and be exciting to come across one making mining more fun. They could spawn in veins of 1 and never spawn cave exposed so you must strip mine to come across one of these.

    To add more use maybe you could combine them with any armor in a smithing table to make the armor look better, eg. A helmet with a ruby at the front in the middle.

    The ruby was going to be added but the ore looked too much like Redstone so they added emerald.
