As revealed in the latest Minecraft Live video and explained by KingBdogz, the Warden now has a sense of smell that can be used to find players. This cool aspect would certainly make avoiding the Warden more challenging, but it would also make players seemingly need many throwable items - like snowballs - or projectiles, which would clutter up the player’s inventory; especially for snowballs, since snowball stacks max out at 16 instead of 64. So as an alternative to throwable items and projectiles, I propose that there be a way to counter the Warden’s sense of smell, and what better way to do this than with a new flower. The Sculkweed would be a rare flower that could generate near water sources in the Deep Dark; for renewability, the Sculkweed could grow from the Sculk Catalyst’s spreading Sculk to blocks next to a water source. The Sulkweed’s use could be masking the player’s scent whenever they stand close to it or hold it their offhand. Additionally, the Sculkweed could be used as a potion ingredient to make a potion that temporarily removes the player’s scent; this could be an alternative to players holding the Sculkweed in their offhand whenever they venture into the Deep Dark. Also, players could use the Sculkweed as a decoration in their homes, as this flower could be placed on dirt and grass or in flowerpots. Thinking about smells, it might also be a cool idea if certain hostile mobs, like zombies and endermen, disliked the Sculkweed’s smell and stayed away from it.
