This could be the diamond version of the new iron and copper veins. It would spawn only in small caves below deep slate level and would be at most about 20x20x20 blocks. In it, a bunch of diamonds would be found, and you would know to dig through the walls to find more. Because of the small size, they wouldn’t be overpowered, and they would also be rare. Finding one should give you a similar feeling to finding a geode.
