Clairvoyance Potion

A potion that removes the topographical map images on your level and all blocks connected to it from the map to allow you to see voids below as when the map is first generated or you break or lay blocks and you might catch a glimpes of mines. This allows you to see that way for as long as the potion is active.

All solid blocks not connected to an air or transparent block would be invisible. Above ground, only solid blocks with an air block above them would be invisible and all solid blocks down to air blocks. Thus all transparent blocks, trees and structures would remain to have their default image maps. All solid blocks where there is air between the character and that block become invisible.

[This is not the same as the x-ray suggestions.]

    If I'm following this potion would allow you to see the caves, verse the X-ray which tends towards ores. Could be fun though I think to take it a step further things would be black in white. so white spaces could indicate spaces with contact to air blocks and it would the void/transparent for things that are not. This would effectively show you caves and mineshafts but remove details, but you would know there was something at this spot, whether its a lava pool or dripstone floor you're about to drop into, is a question still.
