A whip as an alternative to a wooden sword

The whip is an alternative to the wooden sword. Damage is the same. Creation: two leathers from the lower right corner from bottom to top, another leather in the center at the very top and the last leather on the left in the middle. I can also offer its second variation - damage is half a heart less than in the first version, but you don't need a workbench to create it.

    You apparently did not understand me, you will be given a choice between this and that, if, say, you do not have a tree for creating a sword, but if you have leather, then you make a whip and vice versa, now I understand why this is.

    No, there should not be such a function, I think because in the first place the whip is not so long that it is even more difficult to capture mobs, and if it were of the required length for capture, then it would be logical to hit further, and at the same time introduced an imbalance, and secondly so he would have an advantage over the wooden sword and not only.
