Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

2D inventory display tweaking

Allow the addition and editing of 2d items over 3d models in game.

it would be a minor addition but it would be cool to see custom modelled items with 2D display avatars in the inventory made by anyone in vanilla minecraft.

Mods allow you to do this, sure but its more fun when more people are able to experience it raw through just a texture pack.

Additionally, they could make Tridents use this as well (since they have unique programming to do it, it would be nice if all items could use this kind of method. That way CustomModelData could work for Tridents too).
