Toggleable Item Despawning

Item despawning in Minecraft it great for lag purposes; but when you lose your items far away, I don't think it's meant to make you rush to get your items back. To have the best of both, maybe consider making a toggleable setting for item despawning so that when you do lose your items far from home that doesn't mean they have to be gone forever

    I disagree since it makes it extreme so its harder but it being toggleable makes sence and maybe you can turn it off or on with cheats in bedrock or change the game rule in java.

    I 100% agree, maybe an expansion of this is you can change how long until an item despawns too, and maybe change if items can despawn in dimensions not loaded.
