Here's an idea for making a better a transition between older and newer chunks in the cave and cliff update. It will have and impact in performance in older worlds, but i think that Mojang knows this problem as well.
Warning: I really don't know if the code itself of Minecraft Bedrock/Java allows something like this, but here's the idea:
(Only in older generated chunks)
1. Replace the bedrock blocks between 0-5 with stone.
2. Generate simple caves between in the -Y axis with Deepslate, ores, etc.
3. Generate the bedrock bottom again at the standard level.
This can prevent exploitation of the excesive ammount of Bedrock in older chunks, via glitching the game to break bedrock and creating underground undestructible structures.
This also helps older players, and older worlds to embrace the transition to the new version, with smooth transition between older caves and new caves.
I hope Mojang has something like this in mind, and not just a giant bedrock wall in older chunks :).
