I think as the days and nights go on the ocean should slowly creep up and then go back down on the land with little water carpet blocks they would be as tall as carpet blocks but made of water so when you went on top of them you wouldn't swim in them it would just make a splashing noise and water particles would fly up and these would slowly spawn in up and down the coasts of beaches and when it rains these water carpets could spawn in random areas and then they last a little bit of time when the rain has stopped and then after a little while they will despawn for more of an aesthetic feature in Minecraft.
