Plains...well...where I come from plains are flat with the occasional small hill. In minecraft, not so much, in fact they end up looking like foothills for a mountain range 9 out of 10 world gens. I used to build in deserts because they were flatter than plains, nope, now they too are hill deserts. It seems like world gen starts with hills and works up to mountains. Tried 1.18 experimental, even worse generation...very little shoreline...just straight up into the hills. Don't get me wrong, I want hills, mountains, etc...just not ever square inch of the world above water like it is now.
Would be nice to see the algorithm that generates the world actually create large, flat areas (we could call them Plains) suitable for larger builds without having to dig out a small mountain-range's worth of hills.
