Shields are cool right, they avert damage when you crouch, they also..... cant really think of anything else, maybe we should fix that! Maybe we can use the Smithing table early in the game, i mean why are they in villages if villagers have no use for them. We could maybe use it to fuse items with it:
Diamond + Shield = Diamond Shield
- more durability
- enchantments get better when used on it
Netherite + Diamond Shield = Netherite Shield
- even more durability
- knockbacks others if the hit it with an axe
- enchantments get better when used on it (same as diamond)
Feather + Shield = Winded Shield
- fall 10% slower when equipped
- move 20% faster when crouching when shield equipped
- (just for style) arrows that hit this shield spin around and hit where it would normally hit if an arrow bounced of a shield
Rabbit Foot + Shield = Luck Shield
- +30% speed when equipped
- +30% chance to land crits
- Chests in dungeons and other generated structures have at least 50% chance to replace emeralds to diamonds, and iron to gold when equipped
Note These are all just my ideas If Mojang actually adds this to minecraft (highly unlikely) it will probaly be way different.
