Sorting and moving items between slots on phones is a pain, unlike on computers where you have the shift button to instantly move items to either an unused slot or a slot already holding their counterparts.
In the past, pocket edition UI made it so that you could one-tap every item from your inventory to a chest, however you couldn’t really place them at your desired place. Later, when PE finally caught up with PC, it was removed to be more adherent to the classical UI.
I suggest adding a button that appears whenever you are in inventory UI of any sort (furnaces, chests, etc.) that acts as a shift button. You can double-tap it or hold it to temporarily be in ‘shift’ mode, in which you can instantaneously allocate items like on PC. To turn off, double tap it again or release.
In my view, since this change WAS already somewhat represented in the past, is minimal and doesn’t obstruct or unnaturally alter the gameplay, it should be added.
In addition, it may serve multiple purposes as well. For example, when you double tap it, you enter ‘shifted’ mode, but when you hold it, you enter other modes, like ‘single item’ mode, in which every time you press a slot, only ONE item is transferred.
