Make gold tools/armor more useful

Gold is more worse than wood and can be kind of hard to get, and for players who don't know how bad it is can be wasteful. I'm thinking you should have an extra effect like luck so you can find ores easier with the pickaxe or give mobs you hit with a gold sword weakness and gold armour can boost and effect you have so gold is not a waste of materials.

    I agree. Instead of having an increased enchantablity like it does now, they could keep the innate magic theme going by giving golden tools and armor some type of default effect, similar to netherite's knockback resistance. This also lines up with gold being used for golden apples and golden carrots, both magical items. As far as what this effect is, I'm not sure but I think it would be cool to see the luck effect given a survival application.
