Mountains in Minecraft feel repetitive. I propose adding realistic rock formations inspired by real-world geography to create unique landscapes.
1. Limestone Cliffs:
Visuals: High white-grey cliffs found near oceans. Features natural holes and narrow caves.
Resources: Provides Limestone blocks with a layered texture. Can be crafted into Chalk or used as a soil fertilizer to boost crop growth.
2. Overworld Basalt Columns:
Geometry: Vertical hexagonal pillars appearing on cold ocean shores like the Giants Causeway.
Mechanics: Extremely high blast resistance. These pillars emerge from the water, creating iconic geometric coastlines.
3. Red Rock Canyons:
Structure: Narrow canyons with tall spires and natural arches.
Layered Sandstone: Blocks with a natural gradient from bright orange to deep red. Perfect for building monumental structures.
4. Chalk and Gypsum Ridges:
Dazzling White: Pure white mountains visible from a distance.
Mechanics: Chalk is soft and easy to mine. It can be used to mark paths on stones or crafted into White Dye.
Alabaster: Gypsum can be processed into Alabaster, a smooth premium block for ancient-style pillars and statues.
Summary: This update makes biomes recognizable by their unique geology. It provides builders with realistic textures and survivalists with tactical terrain.
