I would like to suggest adding a built-in world protection feature that allows players to permanently lock or pin important worlds.
Players could mark a world as “Locked” or “Pinned,” which would prevent it from being deleted unless it is manually unlocked first. Unlocking could require an extra confirmation step, enabling a special setting, or optionally entering a passcode for additional security.
To keep it balanced and meaningful, Minecraft could allow a limited number of permanent world locks per player (for example, 2–5 locked worlds at a time). When a world is pinned or locked, it could clearly display a label such as “Forever Locked” next to the world name, so players instantly know it cannot be deleted.
This feature would help protect important survival worlds, creative builds, and long-term projects from being accidentally deleted. It would also be especially helpful for players who share a computer with siblings or friends, ensuring that their worlds cannot be removed without permission.
Additionally, when deleting any world, Minecraft could improve the safety process by adding:
-
A clearer warning screen
-
A typed confirmation (for example, typing the world name to confirm deletion)
-
An optional “Recently Deleted Worlds” section where worlds can be restored for a limited time
