Hi Mojang! I propose a new tool called the Echo-Chisel. Instead of mining blindly, players could use this tool to strike stone and listen to the "echo". Depending on the pitch or the particles emitted, you could sense if there are ores or hollow caves nearby. This would make mining a more inmmersive and skillful activity, rewarding players who pay attention to the environment's acoustics. It builds upon the sound mechanics introduced with Sculk but applies them to traditional mining!
To complement the Echo-Chisel idea, i propose the Lithoped. This is a neutral, stone-like mob that blends into Deepslate walls. It's blind but has perfect hearing. If a player uses sound tools nearby, the Lithoped "echoes" back, highlighting nearby ore veins with a unique resonance. However, if you disturb its rest by mining its block, it curls into a rocky ball and charges at you! It adds a layer of strategy to mining: do you use the mob to find riches, or do you stay quiet to avoid a fight?
