I have been playing Minecraft since 2013 and it continues to be my favorite game - it is the only game I play regularly as a busy adult. I have noticed that Bedrock Edition has features such as fallen trees and vines on the trees in the forest, or dyeing the water in cauldrons for banners - many such features which make the game more immersive, or improve the playing experience generally - features which remain absent from Java for years now. This being the case makes me worry that Mojang/Microsoft do not care to improve Java to the same degree as Bedrock, and it makes me worry for my favorite game's future. In my opinion, while the deep dark and trial chambers are very cool, I haven't even had the chance to explore them, mostly because there have been too many updates to keep up with.
Ever since the Caves/Cliffs update (which was extensively delayed and eventually split into two separate updates), Mojang/Microsoft has opted to focus most of their attention on a fundamentally flawed censorship and chat-reporting system and unnecessary texture changes (ie 'vibrant visuals', dye texture redesign, baby animals redesign....why are any of these necessary?), instead of the quality-of-performance upgrades and playing experience improvements - which is what the community really wants to see brought to the game.
