I’m a long-time Minecraft player and parent in Stockholm, with a small idea that could fit the game well.
Working title: Minecraft Glyphs.
A curated set of square, pixel-style emojis designed to feel fully native to Minecraft’s visual language. Players could:
-
Use them in chat and UI as clear, simple icons
-
Place selected Glyphs as decorative blocks/items in the world
-
Collect and gift certain Glyphs as a light reward and social mechanic
What it solves:
-
Text and standard Unicode emojis help, but are not always ideal for younger players or non-native speakers
-
Most emojis do not look or feel like Minecraft
-
Creators and servers already invent unofficial symbol systems using blocks and signs
The opportunity:
-
A simple, safe visual “language” that works in chat and builds
-
Better communication in co-op and servers (meet here, danger, trade, follow, etc.)
-
New tools for adventure maps, minigames, and education worlds
I imagine a small first release of 12–20 Glyphs covering emotions, basic states, and simple actions. Technically, it could build on existing glyph/font systems plus a limited set of decorative blocks or items, keeping it lightweight.
If this sounds interesting, I’d be happy to share a one-page concept and a few usage examples we’ve sketched at home.
