Design note;
This is a set of modular ideas, none of them exclusively depends on the others, each part can be adapted or reduced to the game’s scope.
1 – Dagger
Small, held backwards, stealth feeling, something that is a bit lacking in the game, low damage, high attack speed, reduced range.
It would deal more damage when hitting enemies from behind and would have a charged attack that deals high damage when hitting from the back.
2 – Sharp Ores
Using the Stonecutter, it would be possible to sharpen materials from wood to Netherite, just place them and sharpen them!
It would be great for future mechanics and is very expandable, they would be mainly used to craft the Dagger, besides bringing more functionality to the Stonecutter.
3 – Attribute Template
This is the difference!
Enchantments nowadays are the main way to improve your equipment, and this is not a problem, but adding variety to how you improve your items would be perfect!
The Attribute Template would be obtained through Villager trades, found in blacksmith and in Bastions.
Using the Smithing Table; You place the Item, the Template and the item that gives that attribute.
All attributes are low, giving very small buffs that do not replace enchantments.
Examples
Using a magma cream on an armor piece you get 2.5% fire resistance.
Using Obsidian adds 5% more durability.
expandable
All low, and all fit the game in my view.
Sharp Ores can be integrated here, being used to give a sharpening attribute to weapons.
Thanks for your attention :) <3
