2D Trident texture when holding in hand.

I want it to be where Tridents use a 2D texture instead of the weird, out-of-place 3D model. The 3D model looks weird and ugly, and if it were 2D, it would look actually sharp, not square, like the spear isn't a 3D model, it's 2D; the mace isn't 3D, and neither is the axe or sword or hoe, etc. And it's just annoying that the Trident is 3D because if someone wants to make a vanilla texture pack, they can only edit the colors of a Trident since Tridents are 3D. If Tridents were 2D, then someone could change the complete shape of the Trident and still use it in vanilla Minecraft. If someone wants to completely change how the Trident looks shape, color, size, everything they and anyone that wants to download the texture pack would have to install a mod. So anyways, could you (Mojang) just change the Trident to be a 2D model instead of a 3D model?

    This is another example of the weird and thoughtless inconsistences that unfortunately plague this game. Just look at some of the items in the inventory it just makes you wonder why? I've found a mix of resource packs that fix most of the issues but for stuff like the trident a mod and a resource pack are needed to fix it.

    This should not be an issue in vanilla Minecraft...
