The drowned spawnrate in Bedrock edition (I do not know the rate of Java) is too high. It is nearly impossible to create structures in or around water. I understand the idea was to make oceans a more challenging environment, but to me the rate at which they spawn goes beyond challenging and is rather a broken mechanic. For example, I spent about 1 minute underwater to break two wood blocks with an axe, and was disrupted twice for both blocks due to two drowned hordes, three of which had tridents. Another example is when I tried going underwater to collect 4 coral blocks, and was attacked by two more hordes, one of which had a trident. It should have taken only seconds but the drowned spawnrate is so high that it took me multiple minutes for each, and I lost a lot of health when I was not seeking any form of combat. Minecraft is ultimately supposed to be a building game, but combat with the drowned has become overwhelmingly frequent when they are not easy to kill and tridents do a significant amount of damage. It’s frustrating and has caused me to abandon underwater builds and steer clear of oceans and other bodies of water, and I’d like to be able to enjoy them again. Thanks.
