This change wouldn’t drastically alter gameplay, but it would give the Poisonous Potato a more interesting and useful role.
The Poisonous Potato could be shortened to “Poison Potato” to better support effect-based naming, such as “Speed Potato” or “Fire Resistance Potato.”
A Potion Potato inherits the effect of the potion used to create it. The green, poisonous veins on the potato change color to match the potion’s effect color, providing visual variety while keeping the base texture intact.
Obtaining Potion Potatoes:
• Crafting a Potato with any Potion Bottle creates a Potion Potato.
• Crafting a Potion Potato with another Potion Bottle replaces its effect.
• In both cases, the empty glass bottle is returned.
Bedrock Edition only: Poison Potatoes can also be thrown into a Potion Cauldron to create Potion Potatoes. Each potato consumes one cauldron level.
Balance: To keep Potion Potatoes distinct from regular potions:
• The effect duration is halved
• The amplifier is increased by 1
This makes Potion Potatoes a short-term, situational alternative rather than a replacement for potions.
Poison Potatoes obtained through farming remain unchanged, ensuring that Potion Potatoes cannot be passively farmed and must be deliberately crafted or infused.
