    I fully agree with this. I personally believe they should just increase the main version number after 4 drops. The content of those drops definitely makes up the size of a big update by itself from the last major version. This type of change, I believe, would also make it easier on both Mojang and modders, as if a big update comes in the middle of a year, they can just increase the main version number and not be stuck in the middle of a year. It would be really confusing to remember that 27.3 was the big update and not 27.2.

    1.YY.X.X makes more sense than YY.X.X however YY.X.X would make more sense for snapshots cycles as a number only snapshot system and introducing snapshot cycles to bedrock edition rather than the current beta/preview system, would of course bring java parody to bedrock edition

    yep the change is really not that great, nobody will remember what year an update was in so they wont remember the update number. Meanwhile I exactly know that 1.12 was the world of color update, 1.13 was update aquatic, 1.14 was the village and pillage update, and so on - it's just way easier to remember one linear increasing number than the new system.

    I totally agree. I think mojang just changed it so that people will not realize that updates will be smaller...
