What do I want done?
A focused update that improves villager intelligence. Villagers are one of the most outdated systems in Minecraft. Their behavior, routines, and interactions haven’t evolved much, and they feel static compared to the rest of the game. They should function more like an active community instead of stationary trading units.
Why do I want it done?
Villages currently lack depth: villagers barely react to players, don’t maintain or grow their settlement, don’t coordinate with each other, and don’t contribute to world progression. Improving their intelligence would make villages feel alive, create meaningful player–village interactions, and give long-term relevance to protecting and supporting them.
How do I want it done?
Through practical, bounded AI upgrades. Examples:
• Smarter interaction based on reputation, requests for help, warnings about threats.
• Controlled expansion: villagers build small huts, farms, and paths when population grows.
• Functional jobs: builders repair structures, lumberjacks gather wood, guards patrol, carriers move items.
• Better routines: group movement, social behavior, sharing resources.
• Improved survival instincts: avoiding hazards, cooperating during danger.
• Light village maintenance: fixing damage, adding lamps, expanding farms.
• Small events like market days or training sessions.
Even partial implementation would modernize villagers and make the world feel more dynamic.
