There is a workaround to the com.mojang folder loss on Windows:

For the retail, non-beta version of Minecraft Bedrock:

If you think you have not updated or migrated game files yet, before opening the Minecraft Bedrock game, the retail non-beta com.mojang folder can be put in a temporary file directory. Then when the game migration is done, the files behaviour_packs, development_behaviour_packs, development_resource_packs, development_skin_packs and resource_packs from your old com.mojang folder can be put back in the game directory:

    Minecraft Bedrock / users / shared / games / com.mojang

The remaining files in your older com.mojang directory can then go to this game directory:

Minecraft Bedrock / users / (the number that was generated by the game) / games / com.mojang

For the Preview version of Minecraft Bedrock:

If you think you have not updated or migrated game files yet, before opening the Minecraft Bedrock Preview game, the Bedrock Preview com.mojang folder can be put in a temporary file directory. Then when the game migration is done, the files behaviour_packs, development_behaviour_packs, development_resource_packs, development_skin_packs and resource_packs from your old com.mojang folder can be put back in the game directory:

    Minecraft Bedrock Preview / users / shared / games / com.mojang

The remaining files in your older com.mojang directory can then go to this game directory:

Minecraft Bedrock Preview / users / (the number that was generated by the game) / games / com.mojang
