Sail boats

Add wind to Minecraft you can see were it is pointing with the weather vain makes leaves fall in the direction the wind is blowing, makes banners flutter etc. Sailboats: 5x5 blocks of planks with a sail in the middle. Just like in real life you will half to set the sail correctly to go the fastest. You will not need to be actively using the sail for it to work so you may be using things on your boat while sailing. What can be put on a boat: Chests to store your gear, beds to sleep at sea, Rudders to steer your ship, general blocks (nothing that pistons cant push,) and banners to assert your dominance over all sea life in your world

    Wind and Functional Sailboats in Minecraft

    I would love to see a natural wind system and functional sailboats added to Minecraft Bedrock and Java Edition.

    Wind should have a changing direction and strength, affecting sailboats and making the world feel more alive.

    Players could build or craft sailboats with adjustable sails. Their speed would depend on the wind direction, wind strength, and sail position. Sailing with the wind would be faster, while sailing against it would require skill and careful navigation.

    Wind could also affect banners, leaves, and other environmental elements.

    Larger sailboats could carry multiple players and cargo, making ocean exploration and travel between islands more exciting.

    This would introduce a completely new way to explore Minecraft’s oceans while keeping the creative spirit of the game.
