To begin it requires activating the portal in the middle of an Ancient City, which involves using a Runespell made by Runecraft to activate it. When the portal frame shimmers, all the Sculk in the Ancient City and it's surroundings become white and as hard as obsidian.

Because all of the Skulk's exp. gets absorbed by a Warden. It evolves in to the Sentry and is bound to the portal, it's stronger than the Warden, with a variety of new abilities and regeneration. After defeating the Sentry it drops the Echo-heart, that can open the portal to the new Dimension.

The Echo Dimension follows the same generation pattern of the Nether with the Echo-(Nether)-roof and it's cave-like look, but it has no floor like the End. Echo build limit goes from a minimum of Y = -64 to a maximum of Y = 960 similar to the Overworld (blocks are place-able everywhere).

The Echo-roof ends with Y = 832, but can be broken through the Bedrock layer, just like the Nether-roof and can continue to build up for 128 blocks to the build limit at Y = 960. No Blocks naturally Spawn or disappear on the Echo-roof, making it the only place for building lasting structures.
