Magic in Minecraft is an interesting concept. There are things that show how magical the world was, but the only remains that are present, are in the Form of enchanting and a bit with potions, which is underwhelming.

So I propose like so many bevor me, 7 Updates, that can also serve as inspiration for future developments in Minecraft, for example Runecraft.

Runecraft is the practice of using rune's for magical purposes, like casting spells, enchanting objects, for example Crystal's or other endeavors.

Runecraft is a versatile and powerful system, it can create a wide range of effects based on the combination of Rune's and there Elements.

The different base-rune's have to be found in their respective Dimension and are found in Biomes were there elemental nature is present. Base-rune's can be found through exploration, chests, use of related rune's and found can be used endlessly.

There are a total of 16 Elements and each has 4 different related base-rune's. Rune's can only be fused with other related elemental rune's twice.

The 3 Tier's of rune's are called base-rune, medium-rune and advanced-rune. This creates per element a total of 69 Rune's: 4 base-rune's, 10 medium-rune's (4×(4+1)/2=10) and 55 advanced-rune's (10×(10+1)/2=55). That makes with 16 elements a total of 1.104 Rune's.
