When what is considered a "bug" by the developers was in the game for so long that the players adapted to it and assumed it was a feature, then it is far too long to remove. When a villager is zombified, and cured, the villager will lower its prices. Beforehand, the prices were able to go down all the way to a trade of one item for one emerald and vice versa. Now, the villager will only lower their price once. Taking away this feature after several years of the player base using it is wrong. This situation is similar to that of the Nether roof. The Nether roof was not intended to be built on top of, but players did. If something like that were to be taken away, it would ruin Minecraft for many players. It is the same with villager curing. My solution: There is a gamerule to set a limit for the amount of times a villager can be zombified and cured, allowing players to be able to make the choice for themselves whether or not they want to allow the villagers to be repeatedly cured. This would prevent backlash from the players that want to keep the repeated curing, since they can set the curing amount to what they see as normal, and it would prevent backlash from the players that want to get rid of it because they could set the curing amount to what they see as normal. Since there is already a numerical value assigned in the code to the villager to lower its prices for each time it is cured, this would also not be a ton of work for the busy developers. Thank you for your time.
