The Suggestion:
I believe Minecraft is missing a seemingly obvious feature: Sea Water and Swamp Water in bottles. Currently, using a Glass Bottle on any water source always yields the same "Pure Water," which is illogical since not all water sources in the world should be pure.
I propose that the type of water collected in a Glass Bottle should depend on the biome:
-
If collected in a swamp, the water would be murky (Swamp Water).
-
If collected in an ocean, the water would be salty (Sea Water).
-
Water collected in rivers and lakes would remain Pure Water.
Potential Uses and Gameplay Impact:
-
Sea Water: Could be used, for example, to accelerate the oxidation of copper. Right-clicking a Copper Block with a Bottle of Sea Water should significantly speed up its patina formation process.
-
Swamp Water: Could be used in the Brewing Stand as an ingredient for brewing negative status-effect potions, such as those related to poisoning, making the brewing process more dynamic.
I believe this idea is viable and would add both logic and interesting new mechanics to the game.
