A few more ores that have a better selection of colors to choose from could be:
- Jade
A darker green, almost teal colored, it would be harder to find than emeralds, I'd love to see tools/armor with this ore, sitting between Iron and Diamonds, and having tools with an almost unbreaking durability. Jade is also highly valued in cultures all across the globe, symbolizing purity and luck.
- Rock Salt
A pink addition to the ore lineup, much like the hues of Himalayan Rock Salt. Rock Salt could be found in rivers, or mountains, and is as easy to find as coal. It would act as a pink armor trim, mob repellant, and can be crafted with cooked meats to have a longer lasting hunger bar. Rock Salt Dust can be placed on the ground like Redstone Dust, surrounding undead mobs, trapping them in the Salt Circle, or placed in front of your house. This could also add Salt Lamps!
- Opal
An ore that is possibly found in the end, or in oceans! Combine in the enchanting table to reroll enchantments without using XP, brew it into a potion that temporarily boosts enchantment success (think “Potion of Clarity”).
- Ruby
An ore that has a hot pink/red hue, a gemstone very different than Redstone. It'd be easier to find than Emeralds, and could be a trade material for villagers' less valuable items. If a villager is selling something like gold, it'd be traded with an emerald, if it was like a few sticks, it'd be traded with rubies.
