Minecraft: Bronze Age Update – Concept Proposal
This concept proposes a new technological and crafting stage for Minecraft — the Bronze Age. It
introduces metallurgy, alloy crafting, and early mechanical tools, expanding the survival and
building experience.
1. Overview
The Bronze Age adds a new tier of progression between Stone and Iron. Players can now discover
Tin and Copper to create Bronze, unlocking new weapons, armor, and crafting mechanics.
2. New Materials
• Tin Ore – Found near Copper deposits, smelted into Tin Ingots.
• Bronze – Created by alloying Tin and Copper in a new Alloy Furnace.
• Bronze Ingots – Used for crafting tools, weapons, and armor stronger than iron.
3. New Crafting System
Players craft Bronze Tools and Weapons with a mix of Tin and Copper Ingots. A new Alloy
Furnace replaces the standard furnace for combining metals. This introduces players to early
metallurgy and expands Minecraft’s survival crafting depth.
4. Gameplay Features
• Alloy Furnace: Combines metals into alloys (e.g., Bronze).
• Smelting System: Temperature control mechanic for realistic metalwork.
• Bronze Tools: Durable and efficient for mining and building.
• Bronze Armor: Offers moderate protection and unique aesthetics.
• Decorative Blocks: Bronze blocks, gears, and ancient-style lamps.
5. World & Lore Integration
Villages gain a new building: the Foundry. Inside, players can trade. The update could also add ruins of ancient civilizations with Bronze relics and
decorative items.
