The current system of 2 Minecraft Lives and 4-5 drops a year isn't working, I as a player feel less excited for either of these events and instead of the hype of feeling like an update will have something for me, I have the feeling of it's so small I cannot enjoy it, unless the concept hooks me.
In your article about the future of development you write "We know that you want new Minecraft content more often, which is why we’re changing our feature development rhythm." I as a player don't want this, and I don't think I'm alone.
My biggest issue is I am not excited for the drops as updates, the cycle has become so rhythmic and efficient by the time you release a drop your onto the next one within a month and I'm done with the features within a week. I made my shelves, now what? Well when you did major updates the range of content was vast so it took months to explore! Remember 1.13? The oceans kept players sailing for months it was so awesome! Why not do that again? For the end, badlands, desert?
I want to wake up every weekly Tuesday and feel their is a chance for the present of a big surprise feature. But drops are too small and quick for that. By the time you announce it, it's about finished apart from patches and maybe one or two surprises unless they are technical, and that does not work, that does not keep people engaged. I just want the joy of updates back. Bring back big updates the drops aren't working, at least not in their current form.
