The copper golem is a great way to automatically sort items into chests, but right now it only puts one type of item per chest, which can be limiting. A suggestion is to have the golem detect chests with names nearby and use those names to decide where to put items. Think of it like using “Control+F” on Google: if the chest name contains letters that match an item’s name, that item goes in. This keeps the golem simple but makes sorting much more flexible.
For example, if a chest is named oak, the golem would place oak logs, oak planks, and oak stairs in it, but leave other items out. Similarly, if a chest is named cooked, only items with “cooked” in their name—like cooked beef or cooked porkchop—would go in, and anything else, including raw versions, would stay out. This way, you can group related items together without needing a separate chest for every single item.
If there’s no named chest nearby, the golem would simply go back to its current behavior of placing one item per chest or using an empty chest if available. This change would make the copper golem more versatile while keeping it easy to use and understand, giving players a better experience with automatic item sorting.
