Id say that removing the friends list is an absolutely terrible, horrific change with no upside - unless its planned to be replaced with the Java tab list or some equivalent.

Many use the list display feature to see who's in the game. It's imperative that it's accessible quickly, with only the one button press. Especially since it already stops a player from being able to play the game.

Using the scoreboard, one could assign scores, numbers, to each player, which could be read on the pause menu. And using addons, people could give colors to the players in the pause menu, something which I use a lot.

It would be greatly appreciated if this change were reverted, or if the Java tablist were brought into the game, or if this new UI was optional / could be swapped for the previous UI in a menu.

I’m not a massive fan of it, Ive been playing Minecraft for a long time and I am use to where settings is SND now I keep clicking on marketplace instead of settings, my sister joined Minecraft for the first time since to updated and she has been for as long as me (7 years) and she was very confused where the button was. As well, some addons used the old ui to an advantage for a scoreboard to keep track pf lives etc please change it back

    1. as a player who has played a long time, i personally think that it needs work.
    2. as an example, the settings button should be put back where it was,

Put the settings button back. This is a very malicious change that relies on players' muscle memory to make them click the Marketplace (who even bothers using that). Settings is a commonly used menu option yet you STILL made it a small button (that's beyond me).

No one asked for this, it's a greedy change that isn't welcome.

Can we also STOP changing things when LITERALLY NO ONE had a problem with it? 9 times out of 10 it just causes problems. I know you want more money but can we just start making it legitimately rather than using incredibly scummy practices??

Sorry for the slight rant, I just see these types of changes everywhere and wanted to give my thoughts on it

so i play minecraft on my TV using my xbox. I play on controller. the problem with that is that i use the settings button a lot. settings has always been under play/resume game so because it has always been this way and i know i just have to press: menu button => down => A when i want to access my settings but this change is simply just unnecessary and is clearly meant to take advantage of the player's muscle memory so that they will enter the marketplace more. now I love this game but when the developers focus on adding a marketplace button that is just meant to confuse long time players instead of fixing bugs that have existed for so long that i have to get used to them really makes me wonder where this game is really going.

This UI is absolutely horrendous and it only reinforced my idea why bedrock edition is borderline unusable. Not only is this potentially predatory, but there was no real reason to redesign this menu in the first place. It sure looks more compact now, but that doesn't mean it is better.

Settings button is now overly small and this menu is really important. Having "Browser Add-Ons" just below the first button is potentially predatory, since there are now only 3 large buttons. 2 of them are mandatory and between them is basically an advertisement. Meanwhile actually important buttons are basically hidden and barely readable due to them being so small. Previous design was already annoying because it forced a large "Marketplace" button onto the pause screen. But now there are no other buttons now and its just the advertisement.

This menu will be a nightmare to navigate on smaller devices. I can imagine how I will click on "Save & Quit" and achievements button by accident more often than the actual settings button, just because the button is tiny and in a terrible position.

It SUCKS. This is an abselutely shameful act by microsoft to try and squeeze out some more money from the game. It is so obvious, there  is litteraly no reason to randomly decide the settings button doesn't deserve text as much as the "Spend money" button. I think the two should be reversed. The settings button should take the addon's place and the addons button should take the setting's. That would actually be a set forward in not shamefully trying to suck out as much money as possible out of a game made from passion and hard work. I believe that minecraft is global heritage. It truly is something incredible. Such an old game that can bring abselutely anyone together, from young children on their ipads to sweaty grown men making entire computer programs with blocks. That's why such a blatent cashgrab feature is so sad to see in this game, even though clearly to microsoft, who I think see things a bit like me, Java edition is the work of passion, the heritage they won't touch, and bedrock edition is the money maker.

This change is predatory and bad. Relying on muscle memory to trick people into looking at micro transactions is an awful change and prioritizing profits over accessibility is straight up cruel. The change is annoying and only serves to tick me off when I have to close out of the marketplace when all I wanted to do was look at my game settings. I really hoped that Mojang would be better than this

Having the settings button replaced by the add-ons one is just messing with the players and the settings as small and below everything is just taking out accessibilities away from them. This shouldn't even be discussed, this is just mocking the players, taking them for a wallet and nothing else.

this change is just malicious in my opinion, dont forget that the game is primarily targeting children and yet we got a change that even makes use of muscle memory to get children to buy more like wt

in the main menu? fine, in game? absolutely no damn reason to do so except for malicious greed in my opinion

The settings button should not have been moved. This is a predatory move to get people to accidentally click or focus on the marketplace to buy things.

This is a dark pattern. Many companies have been sued and had to payout a large amount of money.

This is not good for the players, and I don't want to assume malice, but the menu should not be changed in a way that makes it easy to accidentally click on the store. People will click "settings" by memory, and wind up in the marketplace because setting was moved. This change cannot be reality.

It looks fine I guess, but the "Browse Add-Ons!" button is just inappropriate, the settings button would make much more since there.  A "Browse Installed Resource Packs" could also work there I guess.  It's also the only one with and explanation mark.

Would be nice if the player name displayed above the character too.

The "Game is paused" indicator is nice though.

If you cared about player experience more than greed, the marketplace button would be the small one. Settings needs to be a larger, well labelled button for the accessibility you claim to care about. Have you considered leaving it alone if it works?

PLEASE put the settings where Browse Addons is, instead of its current location.

Please remove the browse add-ons button, it's so absolutely unnecessary when you can't even an activate a new add-on while in-game. Why would you need a large dedicated pause menu button for that and a small one for settings?

The settings button needs to be put back under “Resume Game”, the new location is terrible. This is both bad for accessibility and for players on console with years of muscle memory.

The new look is not as bad, HOWEVER, and this is a big however. The Marketplace button should really not be in any of the 3 main focus buttons. It should be resume/play, settings, then leave/exit. The three buttons you need quick and easy.
Then beneath them you can have things like screenshot, feedback, tutorials and that dumb marketplace button you insist on having in the main focus. It is terribly greedy to put it in the forefront and to be fair it says more about Mojang and Microsoft as a company than it does help anyone.

Don't be sorry, be better :(

Please remove this malicious dark pattern from the game and put the settings button back where it used to be in place of the "Browse Add-Ons" button.  The new GUI obfuscates one of the most important and frequently used buttons in the game, making the user interface experience much worse.  Please revert that change!

They also don't display drawn skin heads in player list, instead they want you to use paid skin builder with ugly and paid parts... if they could they'd add contextual advertisements in-game right in the crafting table GUI, we lost Mojang Studios A.B. and received Greedy Microsoft

Marketplace is far too front and center, settings should be where it once was and not relegated to a tiny button. The marketplace button should not be a major menu item at all, functions like settings should.

I'm tired of Microsoft bullying people for money, really.

    Don't pretend you're blind.

Just give back the settings button to the place it deserved.

Put marketplace as a small icon instead.

Having "Browse Add-On" under the "Play" button? seriously? Yeah I am definitely going through the marketplace first before changing the FOV. You know the players have muscle memory to the settings button and you abuse that. Swap their placement. This change is illogical, pure nonsense, and greed. If you really need money that bad just change the Play button to Browse add-on. No one in their right mind would scroll through Marketplace in the middle of their game. Pure greed on display right here totally disgusting.

The browse add-ons button should not be in the main list, it could even be egregiously decorated off to the side but this change kinda bums me out.

It shows how Microsoft/Mojang shows that they want our money. Instead of making our game expierence and accessibility better, no "Buy Addons! Give your money to us!". Thats why i hate Bedrock, when this comes to Java, then for me its "Goodbye Minecraft".

At least add the settings back where it was, even better you could swap them so the “Browse Addons” is not a major button. Minecraft community, we must fight back against this change!
