Let's talk about the updated game menu! (Bedrock)

The game menu been refreshed with a brand-new look!

  • You can now find the players in your world (as well as all your Minecraft friends!) tucked into the social menu in the top right hand corner of your screen.
  • Also, it's easier to access Achievements, just look for the book icon!

    Also going back from my previous critics on the main menu, worlds menu and pause menu which i think should be something like in Java or maybe even 1:1 layout that Java has (which is perfect: easy, simple, accessible). There is also a question. When will Bedrocks offhand ever be useful for anything more than holding rockets and a shield that barely ever blocks hits? How about fully implementing the combat update from ages ago? Because believe me, giving a slight cooldown on hits to MCPE and Controller players wont do any harm because hits still register as fast as on Java so spamming does nothing, slow regeneration is already making it even worse or MCPE and Controller players to explore and fight in the Nether, End or do Trials, fight against swarms. Its really not hard to make the game actually better, but you choose to take months to fix missing or broken pixels nobody ever notices and neglect actual bugs, or broken or missing features people want and now make not only the main menu, then worlds menu but now the pause menu horrifyingly ugly and uncomfortable?

    This sucks. The settings tab should never have been replaced with browse addons. It feel clunky. The old one laid everything out so well and this one hides so much. I dont think this was a good decision. It feels like mobile but on console.

    I can no longer take a quick glance at the other players on the world I am in. This is a very frustrating experience for multiplayer servers if you want to check who's online.

    Please expose the Social tab like before. Or at least give parity to pressing Tab on Java Edition to see who's online.

    I liked it better when i could see everyone in the sever and their ping. There should be an option to toggle this setting. I prefer seeing everyones ping to determine when a connection issue is limited to myself or serverwide

    Ok, wow tons of things to say
    1. The settings button should for SURE be a main button. I mean who actually presses pause to browse add-ons? I mean. Is Minecraft just becoming a cash-grab like every other game?
    2. The "Game Is Paused" icon should for sure be more obvious to the player.
    3. Add back player name!
    4. The buttons for Mcpe are SO small. Fix PLEASE.
    5. I don't mind the "social" button. But if I had to choose between it, and the old list on the right side. I'd always choose the old list in a heartbeat.
    In conclusion. The entire menu is worse in my opinion, And clearly many others. I am always in my settings changing stuff and checking debug logs. Having to go all the way to the bottom to get to my settings is absolutely horrible. The list on the right side of the menu was great. It let me easily change somebody else's permissions and do many other great things including seeing every other player within 2 seconds of pressing pause. but having to go to social just to see it is way way worse.
    Again I'm gonna talk about how small the buttons are for phone, i really do not see a point in making SETTINGS so small even though one of the points for this was to make it more accessible for mcpe. So why make it even harder? There is no need to have a major button to be add-on related. If in the case people DO want something related to add-ons it really isn't that much harder. But it happens less often so just bring back the settings to the major buttons if anything. Thanks alot

    This is an awful change. Settings is gone. Your character is too large and out of balance with the left side of the screen. It's shoved all the way to the right of the screen and off center. It's bad design. Achievements are also gone, so you can easily reference them.

    Expose the Social sidebar like before. This is affecting my experience with multiplayer worlds since I can no longer take a quick look on who's online.

    I hate it, heres why:
    -In multiplayer worlds, the pause menu was an easy way to see how many people were online
    -Why make settings smaller? Its the most commonly used button in that menu, as opposed to dressing room, which players use very rarely, unless they need to reset their skin because bedrock is horrible at loading skins
    -the blatant attempt to force microtransactions down our throat

    Overall i dont like it, pls make a button in settings that lets me choose from the old one and the new one.

    You can no longer see who is online on a realm when pausing the game. This makes is hard to moderate and manage players on the realm. Immediate access to the users playing allows owners to quickly resolve problems like griefing. 

    Having to click through a "social" link to a hodgepodge list of online realm players + friends list is not user friendly.

    This entire menu looks so odd. It is so hard to see the player list now, and the skin is HUGE. Stop downgrading all these menus and not giving players a option to use the old (better) ones! Not a single good change has been made with these awful new menus.

    This updated UI with the "social" crap in place where the list of players was is horrendous. 
    Now it is at least 2 clicks to view the list of other players online. Also the players "score" is no longer visible.

    Please revert this design change, this is not an improvement.

    bro this is terrible Minecraft u need to fix this everyone is hating this the Ogs the people that have been playing for a while will understand absolute dog poop change it back now it takes me like an entire minute just to get out of the app this is absurd pls vote this out of here Minecraft not just me but most no all of us are disappointed in u

    what the hell is this i hate how everything is just so terrible just terrible everything overall is just stupid if some 6-year-old iPad kids like it no one care no actual human would vote for this out now Bruh this is terrible change it back the old old one that looked nice and clean and EASIER TO USE

    the other one was way better if they keep this, I'm sure me and a lot of others will end leaving soon

    The design itself is good, but the settings button and marketplace button should be switched.

    The settings button should be returned to its place below “Resume Game”.

    The marketplace button having taken that place suggests that it’s more important than settings, which it’s not. I don’t mind if marketplace has a full size button at the bottom of the list but this new UI is trying too hard to trick players into entering the shop.

    Honestly, this one sucks compared to the original (previous) one. In my opinion, Microsoft should revert this pause UI to the previous one, BUT, with the exception of, where the players list is, have that be a black transparent box like the current one is (tho being on the right side, under the players list.). This design, i get it, trying to be more "mobile friendly" and more "minimalistic", but the older one is that. This also just DOES NOT go with a sandbox game such as Minecraft.

    I dont know about everyone else; But I genuinely HATE this new UI. Along with the updated way to chat; it just makes for a overall worse experience. Its all over the place, scoreboards will be messed up, and the way that it looks is just overall worse than the old UI. Please add a personal option to revert back to it. Same thing with the old UI for realms and servers. The updated UI makes for a overall worse game experience overall, as trying to join realms is near impossible and solely based off of when your game registers theres a open slot(some are WAY faster than others.)
    PLEASE add a option to revert back to the old UI.

    This sucks, also the game is completely bugged as of 1.21.120 (Windows 11 PC), it took 3 days to get the update and now I can't log into my account on Bedrock, I get error code Drowned...

    Honestly, I think Minecraft should have more Ore UI. So we can have a ore UI design on the pause menu.

    Of course I am saying the good Ore UI from Dessee UI from MCPEDL.

    hello pls remove the new thing in the update my cancel menu button was e but now while I'm chatting the most common letter e if i click it twice my entire message gets deleated  absolute stupidity pls change everything back

    To anybody from Microsoft/Mojang reading this, hello. I have barely any problems with the pause menu, it's decent, but my main gripe with the new pause menu stems from both the button priority, and the Marketplace. The new pause menu took away my muscle memory from the previous pause menu and now, i mistakenly click the MARKETPLACE button, when i ACTUALLY want to go to the SETTINGS. It's annoying, i got used to it, but other players might want the buttons swapped, for more accessibility for people with a short attention span. Speaking of the marketplace, the advertising is getting out of hand. There's nothing wrong with it, it's fine, but i much prefer the Marketplace from the Legacy Console Version, where in that edition, the Marketplace's advertising was less "in-your-face" than Bedrock. Now, let's get on to the problems with the Marketplace itself. The Marketplace has some good stuff, like Actions and Stuff, or the Sonic Add-on, but PLEASE. Some QUALITY CONTROL would be appreciated. I cannot stress how many times i've seen add-ons that are just shameless and don't even try to set a high standard. Bedrock is the Edition with official add-ons support and possibly more customization than Java, so it should have some level of quality next to Java mods. If this message gets ignored, fine by me. But AT LEAST try to consider some decency with Bedrock Edition.
