NULLSCAPES IDEA
I love the current vision for the End Update that the devs have! The idea of leaving the End desolate is an amazing idea! I believe that the Nullscapes data pack by Stardust Labs conveys this desolate end vision excellently, with its more vertical & erratic generation. I hope you can get some inspiration from this data pack for any future end changes, especially when it comes to terrain generation!
TELEPORTATION IDEA
When it comes to the end, teleportation is a well known theme, especially with Ender Pearls, Chorus Fruits, End Gateways, & even shulkers. Even so, the Nether is the primary dimension players use to transport. Here are some ideas for a few end-themed blocks to further add to the teleportation idea in the end:
Chorus Rift- A rare naturally generating, uncraftable block similar to the End Gateway, which safely teleports entities to a random location within ~1024 blocks.
Swapper- ONLY WORKS IN THE END, very expensive to craft. Can be linked to another Swapper to teleport entities between them with either a large range or any distance. This block would make the end far more interesting to explore.
Ejector- ONLY WORKS IN THE END, very expensive to craft, & rarely naturally generated. Teleports entities on it to the overworld, using the entities' position in the end. This block along with the Swapper can allow for extremely long distance travel, that even travelling through the nether would take too much time, and it is unreliable for short distance travel.
