This isn’t a crash or performance bug, but it feels like a major problem that limits the quality of gameplay. Many players have expressed frustration with this, especially when exploring mountains, cities, or detailed maps where distant horizons are essential. With thick fog and haze in maps, players can completely miss villages, desert temples, and other important monuments to the game’s progression.
Currently, even at the maximum render distance, the game applies a strong fog effect that reduces visibility of distant terrain. This makes it impossible to fully appreciate large landscapes, builds, or custom maps. Java players are able to disable fog using third party tools and mods like OptiFine or Sodium. Bedrock should have the same equal rights, where fog can be easily disabled using resource packs or an option or slider to disable fog in settings. Even a simple resource pack cannot remove fog. I’ve also tried testing the volumetric fog slider under vibrant visuals, only to find out it does nothing. This is not just a minor issue. It has made me quit minecraft entirely.
I am unable to show you an image at the moment, but you will understand once you check it out for yourself.
