Minecraft has a lot of blocks, but what if they had more? Why do we need them? Please don't just add lists of things - these will be marked as spam and removed! Also, no furniture, guns, or vertical/"sideways"/"upright"/"standing" slabs (yes, we see you).

Staffs or spears

Longer reach, 1 less damage than sword, bigger bonus damage when jumping and striking

    Not a bad idea. 

    The spear is one of the oldest human weapons, and still fits the tone of Minecraft's medievalish theme. 

    I could see the recipe being an inverse of the sword: 1 ingot and 2 sticks. 

    My question, for consideration, would be how could or would it differ from the trident?
