Hello Minecraft Team!
I would like to propose a new feature for Minecraft: Living World Mode. The idea is to make the world change dynamically over time, creating a more immersive and realistic experience.
Key Features:
Dynamic changes only in rendered chunks: For example, 20 chunks by default, optionally up to 300 chunks for high-end computers. This avoids lag while still showing noticeable changes around the player.
Geological changes:
Gradual formation of caves, sinkholes, and underground tunnels.
Expansion of rivers, lakes, and small mountains.
New mineral veins appear over time (coal, iron, copper).
Ecological changes:
Trees grow naturally, flowers and tall grass spread.
Vines and moss slowly cover old blocks and buildings.
Abandoned areas look like ruins after hundreds of in-game days.
Tick system:
Blocks update slowly, e.g., 1–2 blocks per tick in the area, so changes are gradual.
Safe for players: blocks under the player do not vanish suddenly unless intended (like a sinkhole).
Optional environmental effects:
Slowly changing rivers, small landslides, dynamic mountains, and volcanoes after hundreds of days.
Benefits:
Creates a living, breathing world that evolves even if the player is away.
Makes survival gameplay more immersive and exciting.
Works on computers of different performance levels thanks to adjustable chunk ranges.
Thank you for considering this idea. I believe it would add an amazing new layer of realism and excitement to Minecraft!
