Unify the PvP system between Minecraft Java and Bedrock editions

Hello Minecraft Team,

I'd like to suggest an improvement that could significantly enhance multiplayer gameplay: making the PvP (player vs player) systems of Java and Bedrock editions more similar or even identical.

Currently, there are key differences between the two versions, such as:

  • The attack cooldown in Java (missing in Bedrock).

  • Differences in shield mechanics, critical hits, or timing.

  • Overall PvP balancing, which makes switching between editions difficult and unfair in cross-platform play.

This creates a gap between communities and makes crossplay servers hard to balance.

My suggestion:
Implement a unified PvP system, or at least introduce an option in the settings to choose between combat styles. This would allow for:

  • Better compatibility between Java and Bedrock.

  • Fairer competition in crossplay.

  • A more unified PvP community.

    I agree with everything he said i think bedrock pvp and java should become 1 for example cooldowns in both bedrock and java would be amazing and not taking any knockback when disabling a shield because it doesn't make any sense and just those 2 changes would be perfect because mobile would be able to do something against drag, butterfly clicking
